The Track DNS feature in cPanel uses the basic host command to perform a DNS lookup to return general DNS information about the domain, including server IP Address, A records, MX records, and more.
Note: Some web hosts do not grant access to this feature.
How to perform a DNS Lookup in cPanel
The DNS Lookup functionality is contained within the Track DNS feature. The tutorial below takes you through the process of using this feature to look up a domain’s DNS records.
The first step is to log in to your cPanel admin area. Your web host will send you details on how to do this in your welcome email.

Under the Advanced Panel, click the Track DNS icon.
Under the Domain Lookup Heading, type in the domain you want to look up, and click the “Look Up” button.
The final step is to view the results.
